The Showcase: Local Author Series is a program of Malibu Library and the City of Malibu that features published authors who live and write in Malibu. Two events in 2019 will highlight four local authors who have written books on a wide range of subjects. Please join us for a panel discussion and book signing during the Western Malibu event on November 6 in the auditorium at Malibu High School.

November authors are Jo Giese (Never Sit If You Can Dance) and Lou Spirito (Gimme Shelter).

The Annapolis Book Festival is one of the premier community events in the region. Every year more than 3,000 people attend this free community Festival that celebrates the beauty, power, passion, and excitement of the written word. Entering its seventeenth year, the Annapolis Book Festival brings nationally renowned authors to The Key School in Annapolis, Maryland, to discuss their books and the craft of writing.

Please join us for an afternoon of lively conversation about books with 18 extraordinary American authors while enjoying delectable desserts and libations at the new Marriott AC hotel in downtown Spartanburg. On March 17, from 2:00-4:00 pm, guests will have a unique opportunity to chat with a variety writers about their work--and all things literary--in a relaxed, elegant setting. This "move-able feast" costs $50.00 and $40.00 for Hub City members. Registration is limited to 120.

Child Abuse Listening Mediation (CALM)’s mission is to prevent childhood trauma, heal children and families, and build resilient communities throughout Santa Barbara County. The Auxiliary raises additional financial support and community awareness through projects and events, allowing the organization to grow and continue to serve the children and families that need it the most.
